About Us - South Australian Poultry Association Inc

Records show that in 1925 the South Australian Poultry Association Inc was started, but records show not until 1943 it reformed when the association purchased the hall on Hanson Street (now Pulteney street), Adelaide.

There were six original clubs which where the  All Game Club, Specialist Club, Mediterranean Club, Sussex (and Rhode Island Red) Club, Bantam Club and the National Utility Poultry Breeders Association.   

In 1964, the show was held at Wayville in the old pavilion, with the Wyandotte Club of SA. This continued until the late 70s. Shows were held at the Gawler show grounds in the early 80's, then again at Wayville in the 1984.

The SAPA held its first show in 1987 in the newly purchased SAPA Headquarters at Acrylon Rd, Salisbury South.

All shows since have been held here.

Our excellent facilities are a testament to the foresight of the people who have gone before.
